Harvest in Tuscany

My thoughts always turn to Italy, a beguiling, irresistible, sometimes exasperating, but always massively rewarding country. Around late autumn, there’s a special golden light in the late afternoon sky. The harvesting of grapes and other exquisite fruits of the land proceeds calmly, while after dark, small villages and towns come to life with festivals that celebrate their rural traditions and regional cuisine. The famous festival Sagra del Tordo and the Torneo di Apertura are two colourful festivals held each year in Montalcino. In Cinigiano, we have the Festa dell'Uva or wine harvest festival. The Festa dell'Uva takes place every year on the first October weekend.
