Fabio Picchi – a true cooking enthusiast, and a typical florentine histrionic character – is part of the Florentine culinary tradition, thanks to his four creations: Cibreo Restaurant, Cibreino Trattoria, Caffè Cibreo and Teatro del Sale.

For lunch, we recommend Circolo Teatro del Sale, a restaurant set up in an old theatre, located in Florence, Via de ‘Macci, and the latest creation of Fabio Picchi. Teatro del Sale is located in front of the Cibreo restaurant and the café Cibreo.
Cibrèo trattoria (called il Cibrèino), named after the famous cibreo, a typical stew from Florence, or the Cibreo restaurant, a must-go for anyone who wishes to taste the traditional Florentine and Tuscan cuisine, are both run by the Florentine chef Fabio Picchi. They share the same menu, though Cibreino's is much shorter and better priced.
The Cibreo restaurant started its activities in 1979 and is a true reference in Florence.
To avoid sometimes agonizingly long waits, come early (7 pm) or late (after 9:30). No reservations.

The 1966 flood of the Arno in Florence killed 101 people and damaged or destroyed millions of masterpieces of art and rare books. It is considered the worst flood in the city's history since 1557.

The damages to the National Library and to the well known quarter of Santa Croce can be considered the most serious. Flood markers, showing the most devastating floods of last six centuries, are located all over the city, here in Via de' Macci.

One of our favourite spots in Florence to have lunch is inside an old theatre, Circolo Teatro del Sale in Via de’ Macci.
