Market days in Tuscany | Weekly market days in Tuscany

Il Mercato, or market as it is know in Italy, is an experience in itself and one not to be missed. Most small towns in Tuscany have a weekly market where you can buy food and household products and many of the people travel from town to town displaying their wares or selling their home-grown vegetables and fruits.
Tuscany Markets are usually held in the morning between 6am and about 1:30pm.
Here we list a partial calendar of outdoor markets held in Tuscany: A list of Market Days in Southern Tuscany

Some interesting food addresses in the surroundings of Podere Santa Pia

Podere Santa Pia is within easy reach to the main attractions of Monte Amiata. From Castiglioncello Bandini and Monticello Amiata you can continue to the medieval centres of Arcidosso, Seggiano, Vivo d’Orcia, Abbadia San Salvatore, Castel Azarra, Piancastagnaio, and more to the south Roccalbegna and Semproniano.
For grocery shopping and daily needs, there are many locations close by. The best supermarket is the Coop in Arcidosso which is signposted. In the summer it is also open on Sunday mornings.

Casefi cio Il Fiorino

Between Roccalbegna and Triana there is ‘
Casefi cio Il Fiorino’, a wonderful Cheese Factory specialized in producing the
famous Pecorino, which you can taste while you’re there.

Fungoamiata

Fungoamiata, on the east side of the main road between Castel del Piano and Seggiano, is a small food production factory. Their products are sold all over Tuscany. The sales office is up the stairs on top of the factory. They have all their products on display (all in jars and preserved in olive oil): porcini and other types of mushrooms, artichokes, olives, asparagus, dried tomatoes.
You can also buy all their products in the Agricultural Cooperative store in Pienza, beside the pay parking lot
.
